چکیده
The target of the special issue was to receive submissions contributing to the hot topics on formal approaches for active and passive testing of distributed and networked systems. With this aim and after a careful selection, four papers have being chosen to be published in this special issue. In addition, the special issue includes a survey on active and passive testing as well as on testing (in) the cloud. The editors of the special issue would like to thank the members of the guest editorial board for their help during the reviewing process: Rui Abreu, Khaled El-Fakih, Toru Hasegawa, Thierry Jéron, Pascale Le Gall, David Lee, Stephane Maag, Eliane Martins, Inmaculada Medina-Bulo, Mercedes G. Merayo, Adenilso Simao, Kenji Suzuki, Jan Tretmans, Farn Wang, Carsten Weise, Franz Wotawa, Nina Yevtushenko and Fatiha Zäıdi. We sincerely hope that the subscribers of the journal enjoy reading the papers contained in this special issue and that these contributions are useful for their research.

Unveiling the Passive Aspect of Motivation: Insights from English Language Teachers’ Habitus
Digging into the history of motivation research, we deduced that, the investigations have targeted individuals’ performance as the overt indication of this invisible drive. Yet, it is hypothesized that there exists a variation of motivation which does not lead to a certain action and is only confined to one’s mental engagement with a concept or activity. To further explicate, we put forward a d...
متن کاملActive control vibration of circular and rectangular plate with Quantitative Feedback Theory (QFT) Method
Natural vibration analysis of plates represents an important issue in engineering applications. In this paper, a new and simplify method for vibration analysis of circular and rectangular plates is presented. The design of an effective robust controller, which consistently attenuates transverse vibration of the plate caused by an external disturbance force, is given. The dynamics of the plate i...
متن کاملA Novel Passive Method for Islanding Detection in Microgrids
Integration of distributed generations (DGs) in power grids is expected to play an essential role in the infrastructure and market of electrical power systems. Microgrids are small energy systems, capable of balancing captive supply and requesting resources to retain stable service within a specific boundary. Microgrids can operate in grid-connected or islanding modes. Effective islanding detec...
متن کاملModelling and Compensation of uncertain time-delays in networked control systems with plant uncertainty using an Improved RMPC Method
Control systems with digital communication between sensors, controllers and actuators are called as Networked Control Systems (NCSs). In general, NCSs encounter with some problems such as packet dropouts and network induced delays. When plant uncertainty is added to the aforementioned problems, the design of the robust controller that is able to guarantee the stability, becomes more complex. In...
متن کاملNeural-Smith Predictor Method for Improvement of Networked Control Systems
Networked control systems (NCSs) are distributed control systems in which the nodes, including controllers, sensors, actuators, and plants are connected by a digital communication network such as the Internet. One of the most critical challenges in networked control systems is the stochastic time delay of arriving data packets in the communication network among the nodes. Using the Smith predic...
